Construction Site Superintendent
Our client, a reputable and established General Contractor with decades of experience, is seeking a Construction Superintendent to support their rapid growth.
Create, maintain and execute the project plan and schedule and ensure compliance with the budget.
Supervise and coordinate all construction activities.
Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team's ongoing progression.
Mentor project team members to ensure career growth and development.
Create site specific plans and procedures; ensures the implementation of Company's Safety Program to create a safe work environment throughout the job site; adhere to the safety and record keeping requirements; integrate Company's Safety Program in all site-specific plans and procedures to ensure a safe work environment; adhere to all safety and recordkeeping requirements.
Ensure project materials and workmanship meets the project Quality Standards and Design requirements.
Obtain necessary information from engineers, designers, inspectors, municipal/provincial authorities and owners.
Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences and schedule difficulties while assisting in resolving conflicts.
Maintain the project's Daily Job Diary
Directs and maintains relationships with authorities having jurisdiction.
A construction related degree (Civil Engineering preferred).
10- 15 years of construction experience with a General Contractor, preferably in the residential, high-rise, or community housing sectors.
Experience leading construction projects from start to finish.
Comfortable working with computers and previous experience with scheduling software.
In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and company operations specifically construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures.
Ability to lead and assess trade performance on the job.
Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.
Ability to visualize the entire project and anticipate constructability issues and embed solutions in the construction plans and schedules.
Can visualize and create the project schedule's critical path.
Ability to schedule, monitor and forecast resources for optimum efficiency.
Ability to manage others and many facets of the construction project and assume responsibility.
Understands when to seek out professional advice.
Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to establish a strong working relationship with sub-trades and clients.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of safety principles/ procedures/legislation.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
Expected Salary: Annual gross salary ranging from $100K to $200K, depending on qualifications. Participation in a corporate health and benefits package.
